Even paradise needs work. The Abaco Club
on Winding Bay needed to be redeveloped to
bring the luxury resort up to speed.
In addition to renovating the golf course,
the owners added a marina and other amenities, including a sporting clay arena.
The redevelopment project also included
a new double-sided range, as well as a 3-hole
short course designed by the late Bob Cupp,
which allows players to practice every type
of pitch, chip and bunker shot they might
encounter on the course.
What the judges said:
“What a gorgeous place! Development of
sandy waste areas is very attractive. Expanded
practice facilities are wonderful.” – Mike
