Sailfish Point Golf Club
Clubhouse architect: Peacock + Lewis
Interior Design: Peacock + Lewis
Contractor: Proctor Construction
Construction cost: $5.17 million
Looking to make the oceanfront club
more relevant to its members, o;cials at
Sail;sh Point launched their renovation
with the goal of emphasizing the active
outdoor lifestyle on this pedestrian/golf
;e ;rst step in the multi-phase project, directed by Peacock + Lewis Architects, included creating a casual café at a
key intersection in the community, adjacent to the 10th tee on the golf course.
Members can now gather in an open
pavilion for breakfast and lunch, plus
lighter fare in the a;ernoon. A small dog
park was also added. Four tennis courts
were moved, creating a large, open plaza
leading to a new ;tness center that
overlooks the aquatics complex and the
;e second phase saw a complete
remodeling of the 30-year-old clubhouse.
;is included the addition of a covered
terrace overlooking the 18th green. ;e
terrace, adjacent to a remodeled bar and
lounge, was designed with glass railings,
outdoor so; seating and a ;replace, allowing members to enjoy scenic views.
As part of the emphasis on outdoor
living, the terraces, patios and walkways
were situated adjacent to interior spaces,
providing more natural light for rooms.
;ese day-lighting techniques and new
technologies, installed as part of the renovation, cut energy costs by 30 percent.
What the judges said:
;e multi-functional indoor-outdoor dining spaces in this club are sure to entice
patrons to linger and enjoy the views. ;e
casual, relaxed lifestyle is brought to life
through the enhanced poolside terraces
and day-lit ;tness areas. —Bryan Webb
